About Bunkhouse

Welcome to Bunkhouse Studio. I'm Melissa, the designer and maker behind every piece, working from my shop in Calhan, Colorado.

I grew up around horses and agriculture, and 4-H and FFA have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I know the early mornings, long barn days, hard lessons, and proud moments that lead to show day. Later, I raised my own children in 4-H and FFA and watched them put that same care into their animals and projects.

My education in architecture and graphic design gave me a love for thoughtful details, strong shapes, and designs that feel personal. I started my creative business in 2010 with etched glass, moved into vinyl design, and eventually added laser, plasma, and CNC work. Today, I bring all of those skills together in layered wood decor, awards, buyer gifts, signs, and custom keepsakes.

Why Buyer Gifts and Awards Matter to Me

A fair award or buyer gift is more than something handed over at the end of an event. It represents months of feeding, training, learning, and showing up. It can thank the buyer who supported an exhibitor, recognize a young person who worked hard, or preserve a season a family never wants to forget.

That is why I care so much about making each piece feel right for the exhibitor, animal, chapter, club, buyer, or family receiving it. I want it to be something they are proud to display and something they will still value years from now.
